Lemmings PSP Review Lemmings is a puzzle game where you need to safely guide those cute Lemmings to the exit. You are equipped with abilities that you can assign to the Lemmings to help break through barriers and other obstacles. Most of all, you need to keep them out of harm’s way. Please save the Lemmings!

Lemmings has been ported to a number of platforms since its 1991 debut. With this puzzle game making its debut on the Sony PlayStation Portable, the game offers 150 puzzles with 20 brand new puzzles along with a level editor. There is a lot of cool features in Lemmings so let's take a closer look at this popular puzzle game for the PSP.

In Lemmings, just choose the type of puzzles you want to play and get started. You can choose to start out with some easy levels or you can jump right into the more difficult ones. Levels are categorized as Special or Original. There are 36 Special levels with increasing difficulty as you pass each level. Fun, Tricky, Taxing and Mayhem make up the four types of Original levels. As you pass a level, a new level is unlocked.

The think about Lemmings is that you need to create a strategy very quickly or your Lemmings will just meet their demise. You need to utilize the abilities that you are given to proceed through the level safely. Some of the assignable abilities include climber, floater, bomber, blocker, builder, basher, digger and miner. You are allowed to assign abilities to a certain number of your Lemmings. You would think that this was pretty tough in itself but then you have to remember that you have a certain amount of time to complete the level.

Try playing the Fun levels first since they are the easiest. If you are feeling adventurous, then try playing some of the Mayhem levels.

Assigning an ability is a little tough using the PSP directional pad. Once you have targeted a particular Lemming, then move the cursor to your available abilities on the bottom of your screen and select from one of the available abilities. Pay close attention to the name of the level as it gives a hint to what you need to do to complete the level.

The level editor is well done with its intuitive interface. This is the first PSP game that I know of that has a level editor. It's a great way to expand the game and keep players coming back for more. The manual comes with instructions for building your own levels. You can find additional levels at the game's official website at http://www.savethelemmings.com. Download more levels or make your own custom made levels available for others to enjoy.

Lemmings PSP Review Overall, I found Lemmings for the PSP to be a fun, easy to understand game that is very addicting. The colorful, imaginative level design is very cool and entertaining. The hardest part about the game is the use of the directional pad to make your selection. I wish you could zoom into the action a little more as well.

Lemmings is a great overall game for anyone. Lemmings for the PlayStation Portable earns 4 stars out of 5. You can pick up Lemmings for the PSP or visit them online at http://www.savethelemmings.com.
