While you enjoy your latest electronic gadgets, there always comes the
time when you will wonder if you could enhance your new gadget with an
accessory. With every major release comes a long line of products
attempting to improve the user experience. While the PlayStation
Portable is a very sleek-looking device, watching movies on the PSP has
always been a daunting task.
While there are various ways you can rig up an environment that will support the PSP as you try to watch a few movies, this is not the way to enjoy your movies comfortably. Sure you can hold your PSP while watching a film but that will soon become tiring as well. Unless you’re looking to give yourself a stiff neck, you probably won’t enjoy watching a film with the PSP laying flat on your desk. Fortunately, Proporta created the PSP Charging Cradle that will not only hold your PSP but it will also display the device at a comfortable angle so you can sit back and enjoy watching those UMD films. I took a look at one of these Charging Cradles and here’s what I discovered. Get Charged Up The Proporta PSP Charging Cradle is a lightweight base that holds the PSP at a slight angle and also serves as a recharging station when called upon by making a few connections to the PSP while it sits in the cradle. The base of the cradle has four rubber pads that prevent the base from shifting on its surface. There’s a notch along the left side of the cradle where the strap holder loop at the lower left of the PSP will reside. This keeps the PSP in place while it sits inside the charging cradle. The angle of the charging cradle is pretty good for viewing movies. Unfortunately, there’s no way to adjust the viewing angle. You should also be aware that the male adapter plug on the left side of the Charging Cradle is removable be simply sliding it straight up. Be careful not to lose it. Your DC adapter plugs into the back (on the right side) of the charging cradle. The Final WordAt first I thought the charging cradle was a simple one-piece design but as I examined the base, I discovered that the base is plugged into the cradle. Although I could not remove the base from the cradle, you should be aware of this design. This discovery does not affect the charging cradle’s use but it could be an issue in the long run. I would have also liked to be able to adjust the viewing angle although the current angle would probably be suitable for most people and situations. The Proporta PSP Charging Cradle is not only a great, inexpensive way to keep your PSP powered up but it also works as a great dock that you can place your PSP into and watch movies from at a comfortable angle. If you like to watch movies with your PSP, then you should pickup the Proporta PSP Charging Cradle so you can enjoy movies the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
