Nyko PSP Charger Case is a hard shell case that will not only provide
the ultimate protection for your PlayStation Portable but also provide
more play time because it doubles as a charging case for the PSP.
When you have a device like the Sony PSP, you have to realize that the device’s power supply will be shortened when using it to do more strenuous chores like video playback. Watch a couple of movies on your PSP and you’ll soon find yourself running short on power. That’s unless you have a Nyko PSP Charger Case.
The Nyko PSP Charger Case is supposed to provide you with up to five additional hours of usage. That’s very useful when you’re doing things that allow for a lot of playtime such as taking a plane trip or waiting around for your name to be called for jury service.
How Does it Work?
To use the Charger Case, you will need to have your PSP's AC adapter. After plugging the adapter into the outlet, then attach the adapter to the case using AC jack. Place the PSP inside the case and plug the internal plug into the PSP. The PSP will charge first, then the case will charge. The package also comes with a 5ft power extender cable that you can use to play with your PSP out of the case. The hard shell casing offers great protection for your PSP as you take it along with you.
You can determine the remaining power in the PSP or the Charger Case by viewing the LED indicators on the side of the case. A solid green light means the unit is charging, a flashing green light means that the Charger Case is fully charged and the flashing red light means that the Charger Case is running low on power and it needs to be charged. To charge the case, you will still need the PSP’s AC adapter to plug the case into an outlet for recharging.
According to Nyko, they say that a full charge of the case and the PSP would take about 11 hours to complete. The Charger Case will take about 8 hours on it’s own to fully charge. The Charger Case will recharge the PSP before the case so you’ll be back playing in no time. The case comes with a 5ft power extender cable that you can plug your Charger Case into your PSP. This is to allow the user to take the PSP out of the case and continue to play. Just plug the extender cable into the case’s external AC port and the other end into the PSP’s power jack.

The Final Word
I found the PSP Charger Case to be an excellent addition to your PSP’s accessories. The case has a dual value in that it can recharge your PSP to allow five additional hours of playtime but it can also serve as a great travel case. You can just put your PSP inside and not have to worry about it. The hard outer shell appears to be very sturdy and can probably withstand the nicks and dings from a typical trip.
When I took a plane trip recently, I found the Charger Case easy to put in my carry on bag and play during flight. The Charger Case is just slightly larger than the device so it’s relatively small and easy to transport. By using the Nyko PSP Charger Case, you will no longer need to bring along any bulky storage cases or take your chances having your PSP getting banged around in its own soft shell case.
You will have to carry your PSP’s AC adapter if you’re going to need to recharge the case or the PSP while you’re on the road. Don’t forget to bring the power extender cable along on your trips as well. You will need that to run the PSP from the Charger Case. The list price is $69.99 but you can probably find it for a lower price with a little web surfing. My plane trip was a lot more tolerable with the PSP along for the ride. The PSP and the Charger Case lasted for the duration of the flight. I would strongly suggest that if you want to enjoy your PSP on the road, then get the Nyko PSP Charger Case. Protect better and play longer with the Nyko PSP Charger Case.
