Watching your favorite movie on the PlayStation Portable can sometimes
be a little difficult. You either have to hold it in your hands or try
to find something to prop it up at a decent viewing angle. You will
also have to deal with having to hold the device steady and having to
hold it for close to two hours if you?re trying to watch a movie.
That's an awful lot to go through just to enjoy a movie on your PSP.
Even though the PSP has its own speaker system, you just know there?s going to be times where you?re going to want something with a little more punch to play your music. Intec created the PSP Sound System to address these issues. The sound system?s intent was to provide even better quality audio with it?s speaker system and to provide an angled mounting base where you can place your PSP and watch movies in comfort. Did they succeed? Pump Up the PSP Volume While the device comes out looking flat out of the packaging, you simply need to unhitch the base and turn it over for the device to take on it?s desired appearance. With the base laying flat on a table, you will immediately notice the door on the base, which allows for easy access to the battery compartment. You will need three AA batteries if you want to power your PSP through the Intec sound system. On the front of the base (now facing you), you will find a sound system power button, a power indicator light, one button to increase the volume and another to decrease it and a earphone jack so you can listen to your music and movies without disturbing those around you. If you look at the sound system from the front, you will notice that the speakers are designed to fit around the PSP. The left and right speaker?s interior are curved so it will end up looking like it is hugging the outer edges of the PSP. You will probably wonder how you will fit the PSP in there without forcing it. Actually, installing the PSP was easy. To install, you will need to look at the back of the speakers and find two small locks that hold the speakers in place. Once you release the lockbars from the PSP?s base, you will be able to slide your PSP easily into the sound system without any force. Once the PSP is set into its base, you can simply move the speakers back into position and lock them in place using the lockbars. You will notice that the speakers will fit snug around the PSP and so there will be little chance for the device to fall out of the sound system. Intec PSP Sound System The Final Word The Intec PSP Sound System works pretty good add-on for people who want better quality out of their portable device. Intec spent a good amount of time recognizing a number of important factors such as portability, power options and a sleek one-piece design that makes it easy to manage. I like the way the device folds up since it makes the sound system very portable. The sound system?s base comes with four rubber feet to prevent the sound system from sliding. The option of using three AA batteries or a 5-volt power adapter to power the sound system is also a nice option to have. You should be aware that the PSP will not power the sound system on its own. You will need to have either the batteries or the adapter to operate the Intec PSP Sound System. The sound system?s audio is not DVD quality but it is still pretty good quality than just using the PSP?s built-in speaker system. The Intec PSP Sound System also comes with a black, drawstring, carrying pouch.
