Imation Flash Wristband Review When you’re always on the run and you need to bring that important information along, you have to act quick but you just don’t have the time to be fumbling around looking for a blank disc, launching the disc burning software and then spend another 15 minutes waiting for a disc to burn and verify.  This is when you need a portable storage device that you can just plug into your computer, copy the files you need, unplug it and be on your way.

A very quick solution to problem is to use the Imation Flash Wristband. This is a USB-based storage device that you can wear on your wrist and plug it into your computer’s USB port when you need that storage capacity in a pinch.

Storage on the Go
The Imation Flash Wristband looks just like any other wristband. You will notice a separation point in the band where you can pull the wristband apart. Doing so will reveal the USB plug that you can connect to your computer’s USB port. When you connect the device, you will find the Flash Wristband appear under My Computer as a removable storage device. Using the wristband is as easy as just dragging files to the icon. No driver installation or special software required to get it to work (with the exception of Windows98SE and Apple Macintosh 8.6 systems).

Once the files have been copied to the Flash Wristband, just unplug it from your computer and wrap it around your wrist again. The device is very lightweight and fits conveniently around your wrist or any place else you can wrap it. The USB plug is protected by a durable rubber shell that is also flexible so it can fit around varying wrist sizes. The wristband closes by plugging the USB end of the wristband into the open-ended part of the wristband.

While the wristband does hold together pretty tightly, I wish there was some sort of locking mechanism where the wristband closes to prevent from accidental loss. Maybe a couple of extra holes on the sides of the USB plug and a couple of molded hooks shaped from the rubber exterior on the other end. The rubber hooks would give way when the wristband is pulled apart but maybe it could add a little more security in keeping the wristband from slipping apart.
Imation Flash Wristband Review
Other than the wristband’s closing design, I found the Imation Flash Wristband to be a very useful item. I was able to copy a 55 megabyte video clip, five Microsoft Word documents and seven MP3 audio files in less than five minutes where it would have taken about 15-20 minutes (maybe even more) to find a blank CD, launch disc burning software, copy the files, start burning process and verify the disc.

The Imation Flash Wristband comes in a standard 256-megabyte configuration which should be plenty of space to copy a few files for a temporary timeframe. The product is inexpensive, easy to use and will end up saving you a lot of time when you don’t have time to spare. Fashionable Marketing
Not only is the Imation Flash Wristband a great portable storage device, they also make wonderful marketing tools as well. According to the Imation website, you can have the Flash Wristbands customized to market your business or service. You can have your logo placed onto the wristband and even have a presentation embedded onto the wristband’s storage. This is an excellent marketing tool to use at trade shows and other industry events. Click here to learn more about this marketing program.
