iFrogz Audiowrapz for iPod nano Case Review iFrogz Audiowrapz case for the 3G iPod nano is a unique combination of an iPod nano case and a mobile speaker system. When I first came across the case, I was curious about the built-in speaker system. From my experience with built-in audio devices for media players, usually the quality of the audio is terrible as it is being passed through the main device to the speaker system. I was curious to see if the iFrogz Audiowrapz could overcome that stigma and here is what I discovered about the iFrogz Audiowrapz case for the third generation iPod nano.

Looking the case over, I found a hard plastic backing plate inside the case to provide support for the very thin iPod nano. I also discovered the audio plug at the base of the case’s interior. To install the iPod nano, just place the nano against the backing plate with the video screen displaying towards you. Once the nano is flat against the plate, just slide it downward and it should plug right into the audio plug inside the case.

Once in place, just peel the rubber case over the backing plate and the iPod nano so it will now hold the device in place.

I was surprised to find that the case did not have an open port for the nano’s bottom port. If you want to recharge your iPod nano, you are going to have to remove the nano from the case. Just peel the top of the rubber case back a little and you should be able to slide the iPod nano out with very little effort.

The built-in speaker system is strange surprise when it comes to this case as I have not seen anything like this for any iPod. It works by not having your earphones plugged into the iPod. So if you want to use the iPod like you would normally would, then go ahead. But if you just want to hear your music in your personal space, then just unplug the earphones and the speaker system will begin to play your music without having to make any adjustments. Surprisingly, the Audiowrapz case is still very light and easy to carry around even with the speaker system. Best of all, the quality of the sound is actually pretty good.

iFrogz Audiowrapz for iPod nano Case Review Overall, the iFrogz Audiowrapz case for the third generation iPod nano is a solid product. While I would have preferred to have a clear, hard plastic protector for the video screen, the case does offer very good protection for the nano.

The only other issue I found with the case is that you have to remove the nano completely from the case so you can recharge it. This seemed a little odd to me at first but when you think about it, the nano does sit above the speaker system inside the case so that may have been tough to accomplish. The iPod nano does slide in and out of the case easily. The built-in speaker system also performs surprisingly well which makes this case a great value for its inexpensive price and features.

The iFrogz Audiowrapz case for the third generation iPod nano earns 4.75 stars out of 5. Highly recommended.
