i-doll Leatherskin for iPod Review i-doll’s leatherskin is a shiny, new protector for 30 and 60 gigabyte iPods. The protector was designed to keep your iPod looking just as new as the day you bought it. With the soft leather skin and the metallic spine on the back of the skin, the i-doll leather case should be all the protection you need for your portable entertainment device.

Gimme Some Skin
I got the silver I-doll leatherskin for my 30-gigabyte Apple iPod. These iPods aren’t cheap so I wanted to find a good solution to protect the LCD display. What good is watching video on that screen when it is scratched?

The silver i-doll protective skin fits your device like a glove. Just slide your iPod in from bottom to top and your LCD screen and the your click wheel should line up with the case. This skin is not only good to protect from scratches, it also protects it from all those fingerprints and other elements that you come in contact with.

The case is made of soft, leather with its silver cover on the outside and soft, black surface on the inside. The LCD display and the click wheel are protected by  clear PVC screens that are stitched into the protective skin. My 30-gigabyte iPod slid into the skin easily and was snug around the device. To remove the device, you can just push on the bottom of the leather case. There is an opening at the bottom of the case so you can dock your iPod without having to remove it from the case.

i-doll Leatherskin for iPod Review The Final Word
The I-doll leatherskin protector for 30 and 60-gigabyte iPods is a good way to protect your player from scratches and other dings. The back support is a little softer than I would like.

The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no way to prevent the iPod from slipping out through the top. While my 30-gigabyte iPod did fit snug into the case, having the top of the protector open without any kind of restraint made me cautious about how I carried the device. Be careful about carrying the device using the ring as well. It appeared the ring (which is a attached to the soft spine) is glued to the back of the leatherskin. You wouldn’t want your iPod taking a fall if that soft spine backing were to peel off.

The silver i-doll leather case for 30 and 60-gigabyte iPods is a good protector for the case but the lack of a cover at the top of the skin to prevent your iPod from sliding out and the metallic spine are elements that some may be concerned with. I really liked the shiny, silver exterior and the soft leather case is very well done. The i-doll leather case protector for 30 and 60-gigabyte iPods earns 3 out of 5 stars.
