H2O Audio Waterproof Case for iPod shuffle Review For those who play hard in the water and want to enjoy your music along with the action, H2O Audio has introduced the H2O Audio waterproof housing for the Apple iPod shuffle. H2O Audio specializes in waterproof products and after I picked up their waterproof headphones, I just had to get this waterproof protector for my iPod shuffle.

When you first see the H2O Audio waterproof housing for the iPod shuffle, it appears to be a small spray bottle or maybe an odd shaped magic marker. Make no mistake, this little device is going to get a workout under water since it’s very hot outside and I want to use my iPod shuffle. Here is what I discovered about the waterproof case for the Apple iPod shuffle from H2O Audio.

The waterproof housing is made up of a silicone sleeve and a hard plastic cover to encase your iPod shuffle. The first thing you need to do is remove the hard plastic cover to the housing. You need to position two fingers on the sides of the housing while pulling up on the hard plastic cover. It’s going to be very tight so don’t give up if you don’t get it out on the first try. Now I see how it keeps the water out though.

Once the cover is removed, you will notice that it has a tray attached to it that fits into the housing. This is where you slide your iPod shuffle into the housing. Make sure the control pad is facing the proper side of the case when you put it back into housing. Also make sure the device is powered on before reinstalling. Remember that there are no accessible openings to the shuffle once reinstalled.

One of the most important parts of installation is the placement of the Super O Lube that comes with the package. Using the Super O Lube helps ensure a watertight seal so definitely remember to use this. It comes in a small tube so do not discard this when you remove the package contents.

Now just plug your waterproof headphones (I suggest using the H2O Audio waterproof headphones as it was designed for this device although you could any water resistant headphones) into the 3.5mm audio jack at the very top of the housing and you’re ready for the water.

H2O Audio Waterproof Case for iPod shuffle Review The rubber case is very tough and your Apple iPod shuffle will fit snug inside of it. Now before you submerge your iPod shuffle in water, go over the usage instructions and test your knowledge of the device by putting the empty case in the water first.

Once you see the device working properly and you are confident that you won’t jeopardize your iPod shuffle, then continue to install your device. Make sure there isn’t any water inside the case as nothing is more damaging to electronic devices than water and moisture. While it may be very tough to remove the cover from the housing, try to position your two fingers near the top of each side on the housing as it will make it easier to remove the cover. It is also ribbed along the side to help you grip the rubber case.

I really enjoyed using the waterproof housing for my iPod shuffle along with H2O Audio’s waterproof headphones. They make great underwater companions so you can enjoy your music while having your summer fun.

The waterproof case for the iPod shuffle comes with a stretchable armband that can hold your device while you play in the water. The product is inexpensive and is a welcomed addition to your list of iPod shuffle accessories. The H2O Audio waterproof housing for the iPod shuffle earns 4 out of 5 stars.

About H2O Audio
H2O Audio was founded on an idea that we shouldn't be bounded where we listen to our music just because we are passionate about our water, snow and sand sports. Why should the runners and cyclists get to keep their tunes on while they play, but our MP3 players are locked in our cars, or sitting on shore yearning to play the soundtrack we imagine in our mind. It just wasn't fair, and because we didn't want to sit around and whine about it, we chose to find a solution. Not just any solution, we chose to find the solution.
